Extrusion Press Platforms
From conventional profile production to indirect extrusion, seamless tube forming and project-specific engineering, each press solution must be matched to the material, product geometry, quality targets and production requirements.
Direct and indirect extrusion describe different metal-flow relationships; double-action refers to an independent piercing or mandrel system; custom engineering combines these platforms around specific project boundaries. The right solution depends on material, product structure, quality targets, production rate and plant conditions.
With the die fixed in position, the main extrusion system pushes the billet forward through the container. The platform can be used for solid profiles, bars, and selected tube or hollow-profile applications with the appropriate die system.
During indirect extrusion, there is essentially no relative sliding between the billet and the container. This reduces the influence of container-wall friction on load and temperature variation and can support more consistent conditions along the extrusion length.
The main extrusion system works together with an independent piercing or mandrel system, allowing the mandrel to pierce, position or remain controlled during forming. The platform is primarily intended for seamless tubes and hollow products that require mandrel-assisted forming.
Project-specific engineering can be developed around material behaviour, product geometry, production rate, quality targets, plant conditions and automation boundaries. Direct, indirect or double-action configurations may be combined according to the agreed project requirements.
